WHALE SAFARI

We board our Targa 46 boat located in the port of Nord-Leangen, only 4 km from the Lodge. Our Captain has 30 years of experience in the Northern Seas and, added to his good contact with local fishermen, we will drive the way in which whales have last been observed.

Whale watching is an experience like no other. From Tromsø and Lyngen you have one of
the best places in the world to witness these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.
Our long coastline, cold and nutrient-rich waters, and abundant marine life make it an ideal
location for whale watching.

We board our Targa 46 boat located in the port of Nord-Lenangen, only 4 km from the
Lodge. Our Captain has 30 years of experience in the Northern Seas and, added to his good
contact with local fishermen, we will drive the way in which whales have last been observed.
This type of ship allows us to cruise at high speed and cover long distances in a short period
of time. When we reach these beautiful sea giants, we will get close to them while hearing
their singing through our special surround audio system. On the search we sail through
magnificent scenery. If we were so unlucky not to see whales, the trip itself will be a unique
experience.

The Best Time to Go Whale Watching in Norway
The best time to go whale watching in Norway is between November and February. During
this time, the herring migrate to the coast of Norway, and the whales follow. This creates a
feeding frenzy, which makes it easier to spot the whales. The most common whales you will
see during this time are Orcas and Humpback whales, but you may also spot other species
such as Minke whales and Fin whales.

What to Expect During Your Whale Watching Tour
During your whale watching tour, you will be taken out into the open sea on a boat. The boat
will be equipped with all the necessary safety equipment, snacks and hot and cold drinks.
Once you are out at sea, your guide will start looking for whales. They will use their
knowledge of the whales' behavior to locate them, and once they have spotted them, they
will take you closer for a better look.

We have daily departures.

Included:
